Being an NPC Is So Hard

Bai Ying is an NPC in a quick-transmigration world. His job is to play the character assigned by the System and wait for players to win him over. No one knows his secret: he can see the forum where players chat, and he secretly wrote a guide to his own character and posted it there. So while other NPCs complain in private that players have no romantic sense and keep giving the wrong gifts, players pursuing Bai Ying always give him the perfect present, do all the right things, and win him over as quickly as possible. Bai Ying thus becomes the NPC who sends off the most players, and the fastest, making him the undisputed king of performance reviews. Until one day, a new player appears. He doesn't follow the guide and often pulls some bizarre stunts. Bai Ying's performance rating plummets to the bottom. He tries every way he can to hint, subtly and openly, practically shoving the guide in the player's face, but the other person remains unmoved. One day, the player gives him a white rose that isn't mentioned in the guide. Staying in character, Bai Ying raises a hand to strike him, but the other person grabs him firmly by the wrist. Bai Ying panics. "Let go! Don't you know you're supposed to give me a red rose?!" The other person lowers his eyes, his cool fingertips brushing Bai Ying's lips. "You clearly like white roses. Why pretend to be angry?" Theme: Seeing is believing. Don't believe rumors too easily
