A Letter from My Late Husband

It wasn't until after they married that Ji Xuan realized he had never truly understood his beloved.

In his eyes, Yu Ran had been thoughtful and gentle.

But after the wedding, Yu Ran was volatile, gloomy, and neurotic.

The sweetness was fake. The happiness was fake.

All Yu Ran brought him was oppression, humiliation, and suffering with no end in sight.

In just two short years, love was used up, leaving nothing but endless resentment and fear.

Later, Yu Ran died suddenly, and Ji Xuan became a widower. Countless people came and went at the funeral hall, all offering their condolences.

To them, he was a poor man who had lost the love of his life.

Only Ji Xuan knew he wasn't grieving.

He was finally free again.

That joy of being given a new lease on life ended the moment someone barged into the funeral hall.

The newcomer ran his rough, cold palm over the pale, delicate cheek of the widower and murmured hoarsely:

"So you're... my sister-in-law?"

Ji Xuan looked up in shock.

He knew his former brother-in-law as a man who had gone out of his way to avoid anyone of the same sex.

But now his gaze was full of flirtation, excitement, and hunger.

Just like the way Yu Ran had looked at him for the past two years.

A sudden chill ran through him.

The younger son of the royal household, long rumored to have died in poverty and illness, had returned.

He was ambitious, eager to claim everything his late elder brother had left behind: the power and glory of the royal estate.

And his widowed sister-in-law, with nowhere else to turn.

*Fake sister-in-law romance, but really I'm cucking myself.

Theme: Love can cross the distance of death and time.
