Synopsis

[The full story is complete~ Awooo, sending love!]

Coming in September: The Whole Nation Survives: A Hundredfold Drop Rate, but I'm Unlucky. Hehe.

Lin Tang blinks, and goes from being human to being a wolf.

He drops straight from the sky into the White Wolf King's family.

The good news:

He lands on a mad bull and kills it, earning just enough acceptance from the pack to avoid being left alone when he can barely look after himself.

The bad news:

He has to chew a bite of raw beef to stay alive. It makes him sick for three whole days, and he almost doesn't want to live anymore.

What's the point of living if you can't eat good food!

So Lin Tang decides to give up and starve himself to death.

...He doesn't manage it.

But he really can't cooperate with the pack's hunts, or leap high into the air to bite a prey animal's neck without getting thrown off.

Well... he'll just have to use a few little tricks.

So the White Wolf King and his subordinates, along with the humans watching the Man and Nature livestream, see:

A bizarre wolf who lies flat, gives up, mutters to himself, and wriggles around.

A good-for-nothing wolf who digs pits and sets traps, snacks on wild plants, and munches on weeds.

A germaphobic wolf who brushes his teeth, washes his face, and cleans his paws every day.

A tool wolf who learns about herbs and unlocks the wisdom of wolves.

At first, the pack thinks: This new guy's crazy! Don't get too close or you'll start acting weird!

Later: The whole pack gradually becomes Lin-Tang-ified. The number of neighbors who fall victim to it keeps rising.

The White Wolf King bares his vicious fangs over it.

But the pack isn't worried at all.

Boss, quit pretending. He shamelessly snatches meat from your mouth to cook it, and when he ignores you and leaves you alone out in the open during your mating season, you don't say a thing!

Awooo! He's definitely your beloved!

The humans watching: At first: Hahaha, Lin Tang's lazy attitude is just like mine!

The humans watching: Then: Aaaah, I've never seen a wolf this smart?!

The humans watching: Finally: Awooo, they're so adorable together! Tang Tang is our wolf king's beloved!

Lin Tang kicks over the fake-squirrel camera and shouts: Why are you yelling! I didn't! I wouldn't! Bai and I have a pure wolf-brother bond!

Until Lin Tang blinks again, and finds a handsome white-haired guy in front of him!

Lin Tang: ...I guess I wouldn't mind being his beloved.

Bai Yuan: .

So, can you get through your mating season in peace now?

Theme: Face hardship with resilience and show the tenacious beauty of life.

Ongoing Series I'm Following

I mainly like sweet, satisfying stories without too much angst. If there is a brief rough patch, the characters should get to triumph in the end. I might consider other genres if the story is especially good.

A Country Bumpkin's Personal Reading List

Mostly shou or female protagonists. I assume the gong and male lead are virgins, or that both leads are virgins; I'll mention it if not. Sweet, satisfying stories with both career pursuits and romance. I don't read special male-insect stories.

I look for good prose and memorable characters. I am neither a gong-focused reader nor a shou-focused reader. Anyone who mindlessly abuses the gong or shou can stay far away. There are gong-led, shou-led, and switch pairings. Ask questions or check the comments for content warnings.

A little animal-related kink, haha. Some transform into humans and some don't. Not purely animal stories, with some nonhuman and Lovecraftian elements mixed in.
