On Fang Yuxin's first day after transferring schools, he opened the restroom door and saw a boy crouching on the floor, wiping up pen ink spilled everywhere with a rag. A bunch of school bullies stood around watching.
The poor boy heard the door and turned back, rag in hand.
His handsome, innocent face was stained with a little ink. He blinked at Fang Yuxin.
Fang Yuxin lazily raised his eyes. "Get out, all of you, in ten seconds."
The poor boy was named Jiang Lianxing. Like Fang Yuxin, he was one of the school's prized top students.
Fang Yuxin started watching over him at school. He had heard there was a notorious bully who made a habit of picking on good students, so he stayed by Jiang Lianxing's side every day.
He took him along to meals and to the bathroom, and escorted him all the way home after school. He practically wanted to tuck him into his waistband. Fang Yuxin seemed to have adopted a human-shaped attachment.
Until one day, Fang Yuxin walked past a major scene of someone causing trouble.
Jiang Lianxing had a lollipop in his mouth and was crouching in front of a boy pressed against the wall with his head in his hands. He smiled and said, "You want to touch Fang Yuxin too? I haven't even made a move yet. Who do you think you are? Stay away from him, got it?"
Fang Yuxin: "..."
So I was the idiot all along.

One day after school, Fang Yuxin headed off early.
Jiang Lianxing followed close behind, wearing that incredibly deceptive face as he ingratiatingly said, "Brother Xin, let me walk you home from now on. You have no idea how many people at school have their eyes on you. It's dangerous to walk alone."
