Fu Mo is an office worker who works nine to five. Her greatest hobby is reading novels, especially angsty ones.
She never expected that reading too many angsty novels would bring her retribution: she was bound to a System and sent to various angsty-novel worlds to experience their joys and sorrows.
And there's another unlucky person: Fu Mo's new boss, Qin Yue, who is in poor health.
Qin Yue has to rely on the Angsty Novel System to cure his heart condition, so the two unlucky souls begin their quick transmigration journey together.
At first, Fu Mo doesn't know Qin Yue is there, so she lets loose and does as she pleases. Then Qin Yue suddenly confesses everything to her.
Only then does Fu Mo realize that she has to pay for all the men she flirted with and all the reckless things she did in those fictional worlds?

And so the two unlucky souls continue their angsty-novel journey while secretly falling in love.
They manage to turn an angsty novel into a sweet one.
