Chasing the Wrong One

-

When Xia Muhan took her college entrance exam application to find Ling Sheng, she heard his close friends making fun of him.

"Young Master Ling picked the wrong girl to chase this time, huh?"

"Why don't you hurry up and dump her already? What are you waiting for?"

"That little vixen Xia Menghan has gone off with Su Hang. You really lost big this time."

Ling Sheng sat there without saying a word, slowly sipping his drink as they laughed at him.

Later, someone noticed Xia Muhan standing in the doorway.

The private room fell silent in an instant.

Ling Sheng walked over and pushed her out into the hall.

"What brought you here?"

"Is what they said true?"

"Didn't you hear them yourself?"

"This is my college entrance exam application. Do you still want to apply to the same school as me?"

Laughter rang out from the private room. "Damn, record this! Who knew the top student from the honors class was such a pushover?"

Tears welled up in Xia Muhan's eyes. She was waiting for his answer.

Ling Sheng's cold fingers gently brushed the tears from the corner of her eye. "Forget it. I chased the wrong girl."

Five years later, Ling Sheng brought people to block Xia Muhan's way at the airport.

"Muhan, look at me. Just once."

The next second, he heard Xia Muhan say to the bodyguard beside her:

"I don't know him. He's probably a fan who's stalking me."

So, wherever celebrity Xia Muhan appeared, there was always a lovesick statue nearby.

They kept a distance that was neither too close nor too far, just enough to set people's imaginations running wild.

Ling Sheng watched the girl who had once been awkward and dull chatting effortlessly with other men.

Every time she smiled at one of them, his heart hurt a little more.

#I thought you were my wife, but you thought I was a stalker#

#You really don't care about me anymore#

#If I told you I hadn't chased the wrong girl back then, and that I applied to the school you chose, would you turn around and look at me#
