Gadir kept reshaping people's idea of what a "footballer" looked like, mostly because he was so beautiful. This boy had grown up isolated from the world, playing football alongside lions. He was as beautiful as an androgynous angel, suddenly descending to earth with a flutter of his wings, bringing astonishment, infatuation, and an irresistible string of victories. At just seventeen, he made his debut in the Merseyside derby, scoring twice and assisting once. Three goals made him famous, and Anfield became his stage. The Reds fans even wrote a song for him on the spot: "Gadir, Gadir, you're September's miracle, the boy in red!" He looked slender and pretty, but was strong enough to go toe-to-toe with the Beast, Didier Drogba, on equal terms. He was clingy yet arrogant, a natural, straightforward flirt who had no idea how charming he was, curious and competitive. He basked in everyone's affection and did whatever he pleased, acting as soon as an idea struck. He once threw a club owner into a pool to avoid a transfer, wrestled his manager in the locker room to stand up for his captain, refused a national team call-up because he disliked the coach's management, and sent Prince William packing when he came by to break up a fight... He was Liverpool's treasured darling, the unfillable void left in England, and France's beloved companion for a century. He was also the one so many people could never have, could never let go of, the shattered fantasy that returned in the midnight hours, a sweetness they could only taste but never possess. Warnings! 1. Lots of unrequited feelings directed at the protagonist. Open ending. The supporting character list is incomplete. 2. I paired Raul and Morientes, but they have very, very, very little screen time! It hardly counts as a secondary couple. If you don't like them together, you can skip those chapters using the table of contents. If that's still not enough, I'll keep begging on my knees. 3. A feel-good, satisfying story with no angst, and not entirely logical. If I get anything wrong, feel free to tell me and I'll fix it. I'm not fragile, and I'll send a red packet to anyone who helps catch mistakes. Theme: Exploring every possibility in life
