Marry a Villain to Win the Family Fortune

Also known as: The Richest Heiress Awakens, or The Female Supporting Character Is Too Delicate to Care for Herself

Blurb:

As the only child of the principal wife among the richest man in the capital's five wives and concubines, and his most doted-on granddaughter, Yun Zhiyi was born with every advantage and should have had an easy life.

But just before her twentieth birthday, she discovered she was merely a doomed extra in a book, destined to die at the beginning in a family feud over the inheritance.

Yun Zhiyi was furious. They wanted her dead? Then she'd claim the family fortune first.

The trouble was, she only knew how to laze around and enjoy life. She was too delicate to look after herself, let alone endure the hardship of fighting over the inheritance. She'd have to find someone to do it for her.

Chu Chen, the book's scheming and ruthless villain, was skilled and resourceful, and could even survive to the very end. He was perfect for the job.

System: "He's suspicious, cold, and heartless. If you want him to help you fight for the inheritance, you'll probably have to appeal to his feelings. You could try using the heroine's methods to win him over, then ask him for help..."

Yun Zhiyi waved a hand. "Win him over? That sounds exhausting. How could a delicate darling like me manage that?"

She'd use her own method instead.

She went straight to Chu Chen. "Let's make a deal. I'll pay you a salary of ten million a year to help me fight for the inheritance, and then I'll give you an extra thirty percent of whatever we win back."

Chu Chen: "Deal."

System: "..."

To make their partnership more convenient, Yun Zhiyi also married Chu Chen and made him her live-in son-in-law.

System: "..."

Everyone knew that even after marrying Yun Zhiyi, Chu Chen was only doing it as a temporary measure, because the person he truly loved was Yun Xiaowei, the youngest daughter of the richest man's fifth wife.

Everyone waited for Yun Zhiyi, who bossed Chu Chen around like an employee and made trouble every day, to be abandoned and get her comeuppance.

But in the end, it was Chu Chen who cornered Yun Zhiyi and said, "Let's make another deal. I'll take no salary or commission. I'll gladly offer myself to you instead."
