Longing Departure

Fuzhu used to love Wu Zhi with all her heart.

Whenever Wu Zhi went out, she took care of every detail herself, afraid he might be uncomfortable.

When Wu Zhi made a name for himself, she invited heroes from far and wide, hoping the whole world would know him.

Until Wu Zhi, trying to please his mortal childhood sweetheart, asked her to deliver the zither Fuzhu had spent twenty years making. At last, Fuzhu asked to break off their engagement.

Not long afterward, Fuzhu was framed and her heart meridians were on the verge of rupture. Wu Zhi ignored her blood-soaked body and asked expressionlessly whether she had brought back the item he wanted.

Fuzhu was speechless.

Wu Zhi waved her away. "If you're going to die, do it somewhere far from here. Don't dirty my cave."

Fuzhu had still been able to hold on.

But after Wu Zhi did that, she coughed up blood and could no longer get back to her feet.

After being reborn and beginning her cultivation anew, Fuzhu learned that Wu Zhi still hadn't ascended, so she hurried back to the sect.

Just as she blended in among the new disciples, someone asked her, "Would you be willing to take me as your master?"

It was Wu Zhi.

Later, Fuzhu's identity was exposed.

The man who had once seemed utterly beyond her reach fell to his knees before her in abject misery. Holding out the zither, he begged hoarsely, "I was wrong back then. I've regretted it all these years... Tell me what I have to do for you to forgive me, and I'll do it."

Fuzhu laughed when she heard that.

She said, "I want you dead."
