The Coal Tycoon and the Actress of the Nineties

He spent a long time in despair after becoming disabled. It wasn't until he met his wife, Ning Yue, that he found the strength to pick himself up again. When they first met, Ning Yue had come to a film studio to pursue her dream of acting. After being deceived and used, then abandoned, she was trying to make a living in Lin City with her newborn daughter. Their meeting was the collision of two tragedies. He had just been told that his second surgery had failed and he would be disabled for the rest of his life. She was crying in the hospital, unable to afford treatment for her daughter, who had a fever and pneumonia. Lin Qingquan took pity on them, paid the medical bill, then brought her back to the mine and arranged a job for her. Two years later, Ning Yue confessed her feelings. Overcome by his low self-esteem, he turned her down. Five years later, they got married. Trapped in his insecurity, Lin Qingquan never managed to confess his love before he died. He closed his eyes with regrets, then returned to the early 1990s. He hadn't yet been disabled in the mine collapse, and by his calculations, his wife had just arrived at the film studio and hadn't yet met the scumbag who would deceive her. First, he called off the mine survey and prevented a tragedy. Then he rushed straight to the film studio to find his wife. To his surprise, his wife, who had once been a bold and fiery woman, was now a gentle beauty with dimples. A few months later, they finally got together. Ning Yue smiled and said, "I still prefer lilies." But in their previous life, she'd said she liked the roses he gave her best. Had he really been giving her roses for forty years when she wanted lilies? After taking the college entrance exam, Ning Yue argued with her parents about her university choices and ran away from home. She went to the film studios, hoping to earn money for college by acting. She hit one dead end after another. The only production that would take her on made her work as an extra, the lowest and most grueling job on set. Just when Ning Yue was about to give up, Lin Qingquan appeared out of nowhere and pulled her out of the mire. When people mistreated her, he took her away from that hell. Only much later did she learn that he had used almost his entire fortune to open the doors of a production company for her, just so she could get acting jobs. Once, she happened to overhear someone say that she had a nickname in the industry: "Golden Nugget." Wherever she went, people said, the production wouldn't have to worry about finding an investor. When she got home, Ning Yue saw Lin Qingquan, looking a little silly, holding out three movie scripts and asking her to choose one. Ning Yue couldn't help asking, "How much are you planning to invest this time?" Lin Qingquan froze for a moment, then said, "Ten million." Ning Yue frowned. "How much money do you have?" Lin Qingquan replied, "Ten million. I've read these scripts. They won't lose money." Later, as Ning Yue became increasingly dazzling, Lin Qingquan's deeply rooted inferiority complex resurfaced. Until Ning Yue pinned him down on the sofa and said, "We've been dating for two years and you haven't even kissed me. Are you a tortoise or what?" Up next: "Reborn as the Coal Magnate's Youngest Daughter (1990s)." Please add it to your collection! Yan Xi was considered old-fashioned-looking. Even though she had graduated from a top university with the highest marks in her major, she kept failing auditions at various production companies and had no choice but to move from acting to behind-the-scenes work. One day, after working overtime, she went out for barbecue with her coworkers. One coworker said, "You were born at the wrong time. Twenty years ago, the entertainment industry belonged to the coal magnates. They'd have made you a star for sure." Yan Xi woke up after a drunken night to find that she really had traveled back to the 1990s, the golden age of the entertainment industry, when coal magnates supposedly called the shots. And she'd become the youngest daughter of a coal magnate who owned seven mines! Sixteen-year-old Yan Xi took the million yuan she'd "borrowed" from her coal-magnate father and set off for the film studio. In those days, the people who showed up in the entertainment industry waving money around to promote actors were all paunchy, bald coal magnates. Yan Xi stood out from the crowd in more ways than one. After attending a party, Yan Xi had her eye on just one promising newcomer. Unfortunately, he wasn't interested in her. Yan Xi had no choice but to visit universities to scout for new talent. In the end, she assembled a cast and crew that included a male lead known as a box office curse, an incredibly tacky leading lady, and a cinematographer who only made terrible movies... At first, everyone at the film studio mocked this coal magnate's daughter, who seemed to have just come out of the mountains. No one believed a slapdash crew put together by a nouveau riche heiress could make a good movie. Then they heard that the coal magnate would direct and star in it, and even write the screenplay herself. The other production teams all shook their heads. The film was doomed. Even her coal-magnate father called to persuade Yan Xi: "Sweetie, why don't we just give up?" Yan Xi: "Dad, you don't believe in me?" "Uh, I do believe in you. If you run out of money, just ask me for more!" Her coal-magnate father thought that even if she lost money, it was fine. Their family owned mines, after all. No one expected Yan Xi's TV drama to top the ratings as soon as it aired. After that, TV stations fought to buy it. Her first movie won countless awards, and the actor once known as a box office curse became the highest-grossing star in the country. The Yan Xi era began in the entertainment industry. Every show she made introduced a new genre, and she left behind a legend that would never fade. Theme: Treat others sincerely, and be kind to yourself.
