Ten Years as a Corporate Slave, Then the Hero Training System Arrives

[Original work. This is an original superhero story, not fanfiction!] After transmigrating into the comic My Other Name, Jiang Wenzhou awakened his psychic powers at the age of eight and shot to fame. For a time, he was considered humanity’s hope in the fight against an alien invasion! But when the mystery box of psychic powers opened and his true ability was revealed, all anyone felt when they looked at Jiang Wenzhou was disappointment. When he was eighteen, the Alliance replied to Jiang Wenzhou’s application to become a hero: “Dear, our suggestion is that you focus on your studies and find another way to shine!” But after Jiang Wenzhou gave up and spent ten years as a corporate drone, a System that should have arrived when he was eighteen bound itself to him at age twenty-eight, aboard a subway train headed for disaster. [Mission: Stop the subway massacre and become a hero!] The System told him to be a hero, so he opened the [Autopilot] feature and let “Heaven’s Will” take over. The System told him to find the culprit, so he exploited a bug, worked backward from the outcome to the cause, and impersonated a fortune-teller online. System: Is this how you become a hero? Jiang Wenzhou: Maybe start by reflecting on the fact that you’re ten years late. It began with a subway train that should have been doomed. An unknown hero, absent from the official registry, quietly emerged. In the eyes of the public, he was a brilliant strategist who could foresee everything, and a deity who communicated between heaven and earth. Until alien starships arrived, and a devastating energy storm swept across Earth. At the very moment when everyone, heroes included, had lost all hope Jiang Wenzhou, this utterly ordinary corporate drone, spread his [Phantom] to its full extent before the public for the first time. The barrier once mocked by everyone as the most useless of all now stood between them and the gods. Also known as: The Story of How My Golden Finger Was Ten Years Late, and How an “Ordinary” Corporate Drone Was Forced to Become a Hero * This is not a stock-picking story. The official pairing is the adorable Solar Wind. The protagonist’s entry is marked with a question mark because his identity is rather special. Neither Solar Wind nor Xia Mianfeng is his real name; they’re aliases given to him by others so he can walk among humans. His real name involves spoilers, so it hasn’t been included. * Thanks again, everyone, for your support. (^_^) Theme: Stay forever young, and keep striving forever.
