I Was Such a Dedicated Canary That They Took Me to Work

After a bizarre world descends, overworked office drone Song Ci is forced into a relationship by an ancient tree spirit. And after seeing the tree spirit's true form... Song Ci: I'm in! ╰(°▽°)╯ At last, the carefree lie-flat life he'd dreamed of is here! The ancient tree spirit is the progenitor of all strange beings and even runs a Bureau of Strange Domains. It's handsome and rich, just a little yandere and twisted. Song Ci says he can put up with that ╰(°▽°)╯ He dutifully serves the old monster. Until one day, a year later, the old monster lifts his chin, strokes his dewy, luscious lips, and smiles. "You're such a glutton. Xiao Ci, why don't you come to work with Daddy? There'll be more to eat and do outside. I'm sure you'll love it." Song Ci's expression cracks on the spot :) He was a canary, but he was so dedicated that he got taken to work. Forced back into office-drone life, Song Ci goes berserk. Any ghost that passes him gets slapped twice. On a business trip to stabilize his boss's soul, he kicks the sopping-wet young water-ghost boss, who's crawling up onto the bed, right back off, and wrecks the Strange Domain. A midnight wedding at the manor... He finds the young man with his belly split open, the ghost boss, disgusting... Song Ci really was having a great time, but the old monster couldn't take much. After just a few rounds, Song Ci played him to death. Song Ci: ? Did I say you could die? Get back here and die again! Later, all the strange beings watch as their new Lord God drags the fallen former Lord God back from beneath the heavenly tribulation with his own hands. The reason: he only wants to live off someone else. He doesn't want to work. The old monster has to come back and keep supporting him. The ghosts, who had always seen the new Lord God as a pure, celibate, pitiful savior and felt righteous indignation toward the sanctimonious old Lord God, are devastated!
