Saving My Childhood Friend, the Villain

Zhou You had a dream that he was living inside a tragic danmei novel. His childhood friend Lu Li, whom he hadn't seen in ages, was the story's major villain.

Lu Li fell in love with the protagonist bottom at first sight and stopped at nothing to make him his. In the end, after losing everything, he died in a car accident.

Meanwhile, the protagonist top acquired every company connected to Lu Li, including the Zhou family business. Zhou You, an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, lost all his property, too.

The dream felt incredibly real. When Second Young Master Zhou woke up, furious and with his blood pressure through the roof, he immediately called Lu Li. He'd always wanted to be a useless family freeloader, after all.

"Is the game not fun anymore, or is making money boring? What the hell are you dating for?"

Lu Li couldn't be bothered arguing with Zhou You, who was prone to periodic bouts of madness, and tried to brush him off with one sentence: "Xiao Lin's putting together a get-together for once. A fresh start. You coming?"

A fresh start? Wasn't that where Lu Li fell in love with the protagonist bottom at first sight?

There were too many coincidences to explain, so Zhou You launched a full-scale surveillance plan. He occupied all of Lu Li's free time, cultivated Lu Li's interests and hobbies, and kept him away from anything vulgar or ordinary.

Unfortunately, the day Lu Li met the protagonist bottom still came.

Zhou You looked at the protagonist bottom ahead, then turned to see Lu Li walking toward them. Lu Li's eyes were unreadable, but his gaze lingered on the protagonist bottom.

Zhou You let out a long sigh. Let the world end. There's no saving this.

But Lu Li stopped behind him, suddenly placed his palm over Zhou You's eyes, and whispered in his ear, "I can put up with you throwing occasional tantrums, being childish and willful. But if you want to string me along while setting your sights on someone else, you'd better think about the consequences."

Zhou You: "…"
