Xiao Nanshan wants to become the greatest sword cultivator under heaven.
At nineteen, Xiao Nanshan works diligently, getting up earlier than a chicken and going to bed later than a dog. He practices swordsmanship from morning to night, becoming the second-fastest person in the cultivation world to reach the Golden Core stage.
The first is his master.
The day after he breaks through to the Golden Core stage, his master sets a new record for the fastest breakthrough to the Mahayana stage in the cultivation world.
Xiao Nanshan: Thanks for asking. I appreciate all my friends' congratulations. I'm very happy that my master broke through to the Mahayana stage. I'd be even happier if someone congratulated me on reaching the Golden Core stage. :)

Xiao Nanshan thinks his goal will never come true.
His master isn't just the greatest sword cultivator under heaven. He's also two hundred years older than Xiao Nanshan, which means he's had two hundred more years to practice swordsmanship.
And he's more talented, too.
After transmigrating two hundred years into the past, Xiao Nanshan meets his master, Lu Xinhong, at the age of seventeen.
Lu Xinhong grabs his future disciple by the hem of his robe and stammers out a request: "Senior Brother, could you demonstrate that sword technique again?"
"Your swordsmanship is truly amazing, Senior Brother," Lu Xinhong says, blushing.
