Everything for the Zenin Clan

I am Zenin Mio, a child of the Zenin family who was left behind.

When I was five, I accidentally awakened the Ten Shadows Technique, and my mother, Kotone, brought me to the Zenin family.

Kotone told me that as long as I behaved, everyone would like me.

She lied to me.

I lied to Kotone too. The truth is, I can't use cursed techniques at all, but I didn't want to disappoint her. And so I made the decision I would regret most and never regret for the rest of my life.

I entered the Zenin family of my own free will.

There, I met Maki and Mai, my friends for life. I also met my lifelong nemesis, Zenin Naoya.

I hate the way he mocks and looks down on me. I hate how he bullies Maki and Mai.

I hate him. I want to kill him.

But I also want to become him.

If I became him... if I replaced him...

Mother, Kotone. Would you love me then?
