Everyone in court has recently learned a few things:
General Hua Lian has seen through the mortal world and shut himself away. The emperor, Ming Fei, swallowed his pride and tried to explain, but to no avail.
Ming Fei, cold as ice, went to the general's manor with his sword, drew it, and shouted, "Take your medicine!"
Ming Fei, bold and high-handed, lined up troops in the street outside the general's manor. Their blades glinted menacingly as he threatened, "Come out and review the troops!"
Ming Fei was caught in a rebellion, with mutinous soldiers set to enter the city the next day. Soaked to the skin and chilled to the bone, he came to the manor with just one request: "You once said you'd stay with me for the rest of my life. Stay up and talk with me tonight, and that'll count as a whole lifetime."
Beneath an umbrella, Hua Lian's eyes were wrapped in white bandages. He spoke calmly and plainly: "My heart has turned black. I don't want to die with you."
Ming Fei's heart turned to ashes. He turned and staggered away.
"However," he heard a few words from behind him. "You shouldn't be dying just yet. We still haven't settled our score."
