Bai Xi is a war god with boundless magical power, unmatched in heaven or on earth.

After returning from her tribulations, a friend asks about her three lifetimes. Bai Xi can only sigh mournfully. "Alas, he has no heart."

That night, the man appears in her room, backing her into a corner. He grips her slender waist and presses his forehead to hers, saying each word slowly: "So which one of us is the one without a heart?"

A little scene:

"My Lord, Madam has nearly smashed half of Jiuhua Palace. If she keeps going, she'll destroy the whole palace."

"It's fine. She's angry right now. Let her smash whatever she wants." Qing Zhi sets down his bamboo scroll and massages the space between his brows.

There's one more thing he doesn't say aloud:

If she gets it out of her system, maybe she won't make him sleep in the side hall tonight!

He clamps a hand around her neck, the veins at his temples bulging as he cries out in anguish, "I followed the rules for virtuous men! Why do you still refuse to love me?"
