Lu You and Shen Ye were both orphans, and they depended on each other.

Although she lived in an orphanage, Lu You always believed that one day her family would come looking for her.

During elementary school gym class, everyone liked to gather around and listen to Lu You tell stories about her family:

"Actually, I'm a princess who's been lost from home."

"My older brother is a prince."

"I've met an angel with wings."

"The Little Mermaid is my best friend."

"I know Snow White, too."

They were all innocent little children, so everyone believed Lu You was telling the truth. Only Shen Ye was forced to sit there and listen to her rambling with a blank expression, never once calling her out.

The day Shen Ye's family came to take him home, they told him he could choose a friend from the orphanage to bring along for company.

Lu You looked at Shen Ye expectantly. She knew he would take her with him!

But in the end, Shen Ye chose another girl, Su Wan, who often bullied her.

The day Su Wan went home with Shen Ye, she deliberately ran over to gloat. "All those dreams and all that warmth you had? I was the one who gave them to you."

Shen Ye stood silently beside her, looking at Lu You with indifferent eyes.

He must have been agreeing with everything Su Wan said.

Years passed, and Lu You grew up. Her parents still never came looking for her.

The merciless mockery of time had long since made her realize that she was just an ordinary girl who had been abandoned.

Then Shen Ye, who had already been taken back by his family, suddenly appeared before her.

He was doing very well now, while she was worlds apart from him.

No one would ever believe that the heir to the Shen Group had once found comfort in the dark with an orphan, the two of them huddling together for warmth through the bitter winter.

As an adult, Lu You was calm and no longer harbored any hopes about Shen Ye. She had even locked away and forgotten their past.

But Shen Ye's gaze grew more and more fervent.

So fervent that she wanted to run away...
