Seaside Foraging After Retirement

Blurb for the next story, Time-Space Blind Boxes: Get Rich by Finding Hidden Treasures, below.

Haixing had imagined many times what life would be like after retirement, but never in a million years did she expect things to turn out like this:

Scum-Tormenting System mission-taker: Streamer, please sell me that three-jin crab! Doing missions in ancient times is so miserable. I haven't had seafood in hundreds of years!

Female-Lead Comeback mission-taker: Damn, the future technological world is miserable too! The environment is so polluted that we've had to survive on nutrient solutions for ages. What's the point of struggling through life without good food? Nobody better try to take this grouper from me!

Smuggler-Sniping mission-taker: I'm in the same boat as the smugglers. Who the hell wants to go to a prehistoric beastfolk world? Only an idiot! You can't even get a bite of rice! I really admire the big shots who saved enough points to retire. They're practically gods. But if you sell me this spiny lobster, then besides the great barnacle god, you'll be my idol too!

Haixing (the very barnacle itself (-. -||)): ...I understand what you're all thinking, but there's only one item. Show me what good stuff you've got first. Spiritual rice, enhancement serum, whatever, how could it compare to our wild-caught giant crab?

P.S. The male lead appears rather late, so please be patient.

Blurb posted October 6, 2020, to mark the lament of a seafood lover who can't eat all the seafood she wants this season.

Time-Space Blind Boxes: Get Rich by Finding Hidden Treasures

Wen Yi, true to her name, had a pair of slender, delicate hands. She was a homebody, though, and had even chosen a job that would let those hands' talents go to waste: independent designer.

To put it plainly, she was a freelance seamstress.

She didn't care about accidentally discovering her true identity or being bullied during her internship. All she needed was a workroom. Selling one of the custom Hanfu garments she made by hand could keep her lazing around for a month.

But one night, after she'd stayed home for a whole month, the moment Wen Yi opened the door to pick up her takeout, her world changed.

[Time-Space Blind Box System bound. Newbie gift pack: Leftover Food Blind Box delivered. Please accept!]

Wen Yi looked at the high-end takeout box in her hands.

A premium seafood Japanese meal set, with slipper lobsters, botan shrimp, abalone, and lobster, not a single item missing.

Three dark lines appeared on her forehead.

"You call this a leftover food blind box?"

[The Michelin three-star Japanese restaurant couldn't use up these ingredients today. How are they not leftovers?]

Yes, how could they not be leftovers?

There were also silk blind boxes from three hundred years ago, intercepted by bandits; souvenir blind boxes from battlefields decades ago; appliance blind boxes from the present day; spiritual food blind boxes from cultivation worlds; intelligent robot blind boxes from interstellar worlds...

[Would you like to get these magical blind boxes?]

Wen Yi nodded furiously, her eyes bright as stars. "Yes, yes, yes! Of course I do!"

[Please complete this challenge: Using only human power, and at your own expense, check in at a five-star Shengjian Mantou shop ten kilometers away within half an hour. Success will earn you blind box points.]

Wen Yi: "...That's an impossible task, isn't it? As expected, there's no such thing as a free lunch. Not even when it's leftovers."

Theme: Protecting the Earth is everyone's responsibility.
