The Anti-Stand-In Plan

Hang Ling had been happily married to his cultivation partner, Zou Wu, for a hundred years before learning that he was nothing but a substitute. Once he found out the truth, everything he had once found strange suddenly made sense. Zou Wu had fallen in love with him at first sight and spared no effort to help him cultivate. The way Zou Wu gazed at him obsessively, and the inexplicable murmurs when he was drunk... He had heard tragic stories about substitutes, but never thought it could happen to him, let alone that he would end up in such a miserable storyline: Zou Wu's beloved might come back from the dead, take over his body and cultivation, and leave him, a disposable extra, to die a gruesome death. Everything happened so quickly that he hadn't even figured out whether Zou Wu really wanted him to die in that person's place. ...When he awoke from the dream, he was still himself, but had returned to the time when Zou Wu was an unknown nobody in the outer court. His white-moonlight master was still alive, and Zou Wu had only just fallen in love. Hang Ling thought, Zou Wu loves him, and only him, not because he resembles anyone else. So he came up with a plan... Theme: Keep a kind heart, and you can always reach the best possible ending.
