The Ghost King Must Be the Top

When he was five, Lu Ci found himself a "little bride."

The "little bride" was covered in bruises. He had no interest in the White Rabbit candies Lu Ci had worked so hard to save up for, and only gazed longingly at the paper offerings in his grandpa's funeral shop, swallowing hungrily.

For the sake of his "little bride," Lu Ci shamelessly followed his grandpa around to learn paper folding, all so he could raise his "bride" plump and healthy, and have them make babies.

But then his "little bride" ran away.

When he was twelve, Lu Ci ran into his "little bride" again. The tiny figure was crouched beneath a streetlight, staring at him with a pair of big, pleading eyes, looking utterly pitiful. So, yet again, Lu Ci couldn't bring himself to turn him away.

Sure enough, after mooching a few meals, his "little bride" ran off again.

At twenty-three, Lu Ci had become a corporate drone, making a living by folding paper offerings for the boss of the "Paranormal Police Bureau." He finally learned that his "little bride" wasn't human. Humans ate food, not paper offerings.

And yet, he ran into his "little bride" once more. The "little bride" had grown taller than him, and those cool, clear eyes could intimidate anyone. When they settled on Lu Ci, it was as if he wanted to devour him.

Just then, a ding sounded in Lu Ci's mind.

[Host, the male lead is an adult now. Hurry up and win him over!]

Lu Ci: ...

That night, pinned beneath his "little bride," Lu Ci couldn't help panting heavily.

Above him, his little bride's eyes sparkled. "Plump and healthy, let's make babies..."

1. I'm terrible at blurbs. Unless something unexpected happens, this is a story about salvation.

2. A writing exercise, a sweet little story.

Theme: Treat the world gently, and the world will eventually treat you gently in return.
