A duck who will do anything to eat chicken, and a huge crow who pampers and torments him using every kind of cooking method
Duck Dake is a special prize, dropped onto mysterious Rockefeller Island along with millions of little yellow ducks. At the very bottom of the food chain, he's nothing but cannon fodder and scraps of meat, preyed on mercilessly by the island's powerful big shots.
The island is horrifyingly dangerous, with aggressive high-level players everywhere. Even a little blade of grass could turn into a predatory beast. In the blink of an eye, a duck can be wiped out.
For a weak little duckling, surviving is incredibly hard. What can he do?
Fortunately, Dake finds a wilderness survival cheat System [120] from the start.
[120]: As long as you behave and do as you're told, I'll give you a special kind of chicken to eat, modify your body, and teach you all sorts of survival (and begging for mercy) skills.
(Before) Dake: Quack, quack! I'm a little yellow duck. I don't eat meat.
[120]: Shut up. The first skill you need to learn to survive is how to cling to a powerful person's leg and become their little hanger-on. The thicker the leg, the better.
(Later) Dake: Chicken tastes so good, and the big shot's leg is so comfortable to cling to.
He follows a max-level big shot, clinging to his leg every day, serving as a hanger-on, and eating roast chicken.
Dake's beak grows increasingly slick with grease, and even the down covering his body grows more and more glossy and smooth.
Until one day, he realizes the big shot's gaze has grown just as slick and greasy.
Dake is so unnerved by that stare that he can hardly eat. The sight of chicken makes him pale. Then he looks down between his two long, slender, bare legs, where his feathers have been plucked clean, and sees a 45-degree bulge pushing his grass skirt out of place.
Suddenly, he understands for himself.
[120], I don't want to eat chicken lately. Teach me how to earn a pair of modesty shorts!
Mini-theater:
On a cold night, the big shot's thick wings wrap around the shivering little yellow duck, their warmth radiating in waves of heat.
Big shot: It's so cold. I'll rub your feathers to warm you up. Aren't you touched?
Little yellow duck: I wouldn't dare move. I wouldn't dare.
This is truly a "yellow," "wild," and "tormenting" story.
Warning list:
1: In the early part of the story, the duck is a real duck, the edible kind. How the love interest eats him is part of the love interest's fun. He's a scumbag, after all. But after being modified later on, the duck becomes human.
2: The author's imagination is so wild even Nuwa couldn't be bothered to patch it up. There are lots of personal world-building choices. Whether you like it or not, I love you all, so please don't yell at me.
3: This is an idea-driven story. The blurb won't be changed, and the content has definitely been carefully researched.
Theme: Follow the big shot and you'll get meat to eat
