"I made a promise to Mr. Mikazuki! You'll protect me until I grow up, and then I'll protect you!"

"Yes. I promised Shan Hua, and I, your grandpa, will keep my word."

Yue never forgot the warmth of that little finger. But as he watched the flowers bloom and wither, then bloom and wither again, the guilt and regret he'd felt over breaking his promise gradually gave way to numbness.

Yueguang often thought that if he couldn't keep living with the goal of changing the flower's fate, he might not even know whether he was still alive.

For a thousand years, Yueguang pursued the flower, only to watch it die again and again.

Powerless and helpless, he welcomed what must have been his countless-thousandth reincarnation.

"Mr. Mikazuki, I feel like we've known each other for a very long time."

The same opening line, the same smile, the same warmth, the same heart. In a different era, the story began again.

Yue couldn't tell what he ought to do with this obsession of his.

He didn't know what to do when this promise conflicted with that trust.
