Do Birds in Cages Dream of Butterflies?

You transmigrated. Because you had read the entire Tomie series by Junji Ito, you adapted well to becoming Tomie. Because you had never read Bungo Stray Dogs by Kafka Asagiri, you were quite surprised to see Mori Ogai in a white coat in Yokohama. Then you met Dazai Osamu of this world. Your story began there. This is a story about a boy obsessed with suicide and a girl who returned from the dead. This is a story about a coward afraid even of happiness and a monster made of love. Today, did the caged bird dream of a butterfly? [Theme song: Iroha Song, Sekihan] [21/5/21] I haven't figured out how to write an extra story in over half a year, so I've decided to end it here. In my heart, this story is already complete. Adding any kind of extra chapter would probably ruin that sense of completeness. This is a rare story for which I worked out a detailed outline before writing. I'll leave the rest to your imagination. I'm truly sorry to everyone waiting for an extra chapter. See you in the next story. --- Reader Advisory --- * Primarily second-person narration. Serious tone. * Same as the blurb: the female lead transmigrates as Tomie, and the pairing is Dark Era Dazai. * May be out of character, may hit some readers' sore spots. The author's taste is still stuck ten years in the past. I wrote this purely for myself. If anything bothers you, there's no need to tell me, just click the X and run away whenever you like. * The original, the original, the original. It's important, so I'll say it three times. Primarily based on the novels. Where the anime and novels conflict, the novel's plot takes precedence. * Some original text is quoted, and quotes will be noted in each chapter. * Yes, after disappearing for seven years, I'm writing again. Theme: Dedicated to the real-life Dazai-sensei, who made me eat my words.
