Chu Rong is a little dragon living on a post-apocalyptic planet. Since hatching, he has lived alone in the forest.

Without an older dragon to teach him, life is hard for the little dragon. He goes out early and comes back late every day to find his own food.

Squirrels have stolen his chestnuts, he's snatched meat from the mouth of a man-eating flower, and a big dog has chased him all over the forest. More often than not, he goes hungry.

The only one who has ever shown him kindness is a human.

The human gave Chu Rong a piece of candy and then disappeared, but that didn't stop Chu Rong from wanting to repay the kindness.

Once he'd saved enough food, he'd leave the forest to find the human.

The usually ferocious Chu Rong suddenly didn't know what to do. A moment later, he noticed that the candy wrapper in Fu Yunxiao's hand was exactly like the wrappers in his cave.

All the loneliness and hurt he'd endured over the past three years welled up. Chu Rong sniffled, abruptly wrapped his arms around Fu Yunxiao's finger, buried his face in his palm, and murmured, “I want lots more.”

Fu Yunxiao fell silent for a moment, his eyes lowered to the little dragon in his palm.

After a while, he calmly lied to the dragon without batting an eye. “But candy is expensive. You have to come with me.”
