[The next novel, HE Afterward, the Mermaid Prince Doesn’t Want to Come Ashore, is open for pre-release follows. Please add it to your reading list~]
Princess Lufelia is sick of the deceit and pretense among the nobility.
She sits in a splendid banquet hall, yet her heart yearns for the pastoral freedom and romance described in her poetry books.
Then one day, she wakes up as a peasant girl.
Before she can even scream at the flies and rats, a burly woman kicks open the rickety wooden door:
"Uncle Fargus’s cow is having a difficult birth! Hurry and help!"
A difficult birth...?
A cow?!
There are no spirited animals here, only filthy pens reeking of manure and damp hay.
There are no rolling waves of wheat or fragrant fruit, only black bread hard as a rock... and you even have to pay the lord to use the village oven!
There are no pious, simple villagers, only a penny-pinching priest with dead-fish eyes who keeps repeating, "Thank you, Light God."
Shoved into the cowshed, Lufelia is near tears. What pastoral idyll? It was all a lie!

Eddie is a gifted mage, but an error during a spell experiment causes him to accidentally lose his body.
He turns into a newborn calf on the verge of death. A girl, wearing the grim expression of someone marching to her death, pours cold milk into his mouth.
Having to drink milk and sleep on the floor would be bad enough.
But can someone tell him why he, a cow, has more common sense than that girl?
Hurry up and throw away that "pretty rock" you picked up so excitedly! Do I really have to say the words "sheep droppings"?
Hurry up and take that bundle of eels out of the pot! They’re supposed to be used as cash to pay taxes!
Hurry up... and get me out of this life!
Everything has to get back on track!
The peasant girl who claims to be a princess and the cow who claims to be a mage let out the same heartbroken cry.

Much later, the person known as Her Highness, the Flame of Field, will look back on those days with a smile.
"It was poor and filthy, and people had to fight with everything they had just to get bread for the next day.
But it was the most genuine utopia in the world."
"A bird must break free of its shell. The egg is the world. Whoever is born into the world must destroy a world." - Demian
[Reader’s Guide]
1. A coming-of-age story, with comedic elements and scenes where the protagonists are brought low.
The female lead, after she grows up, is a selfless saint, a public servant, and an idealist who wants to save everyone. She is also called the "Dreaming Princess."
2. In the style of Japanese light novels. The title is long, so you can call it The Peasant Princess.
3. A fictional world: low-magic Western fantasy, with little magical description. The worldbuilding draws on history, but all background details serve the story.
4. The romance is not a major focus.
5. Updates are temporarily irregular (sorry, the author is taking a long time to get through the reference materials orz).
* Character design artist: Heitang MiMi * Cover artist: Who Killed the Clown
* This novel is a prequel to The Retired Princess Was Summoned as a Saint Again, but can be read on its own.
* I posted character art and pages from the official guidebook on Weibo. You don’t have to follow me. I just really want everyone to see how beautiful Lufei is~

Pre-release: HE Afterward, the Mermaid Prince Doesn’t Want to Come Ashore
During a shipwreck, a mermaid prince rescues a princess who has fallen into the sea, and the two fall in love. After a series of misunderstandings and obstacles, they finally come to understand each other.
Just like in a fairy tale, they sit together on a seaside rock, whisper words of love, and cuddle close as they welcome a beautiful sunrise and a happy ending.
Then the princess and the mermaid prince each take out a potion.
Princess: "Drink this and you’ll grow human legs. You can come back to the palace with me and we’ll get married."
Mermaid: "Drink this and you’ll grow a beautiful tail. You can come live with me under the sea."
After a moment of silence, they stare at each other.
Princess and mermaid: "What are you talking about?!"
Princess: "You expect me to live with you underwater, in that dark, damp place where there’s nothing to eat but fish and seaweed?"
Mermaid: "You expect me to give up the most beautiful tail in the whole sea, stick two sticks on my body, and get scorched by that fireball of a sun in the desert?"
The two lovers part in anger.
The next day, the undersea world’s headlines report that the young prince was maliciously poisoned at lunch. He unexpectedly turned into a human and nearly drowned in his own palace. The Sea Witch is doing everything possible to save him.
At the same time, the palace of the Kingdom of Urilanba is filled with unease. Someone has slipped an unidentified potion into the tea the princess always drinks. After taking a sip, the princess rushed into the bathroom and refuses to come out.
The culprit is obvious.
In this country where desert meets sea, a battle of poison and counterpoison has only just begun.
* Completed novel: The Princess Stole the Dragon’s Lair, available in the author’s profile. A ferocious huntress princess x an easygoing dragon who hates trouble.
Theme: Everything has meaning
Dadada, when will "The Mermaid Prince" open? Oh my gosh, the jokes in this introduction really touched my heart.
Normal cow dung is lump-like, soft without much odor, and has moderate hardness. If there is an obvious odor, it means the cow may be sick.
It seems like I'm watching anime (laughs)
I was so curious that I searched for pictures of sheep daddy.
Clarkson's Farm started playing in my head
Lufei and Eddie many years ago, the story of two young people growing up, here I come!!! As long as I am still waiting, I will definitely wait for the update! (Make a fist)
The author of Cai Gu is in the process of overhauling the full text. I'm sorry to have to wait for everyone (bow)
I mean treasure!
Happy to hear and see (bishi)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh knocking on the rice bowl, madam, hungry, hungry
