You Are My Destiny

As the exclusive summer intern at Mr. L's venture capital firm, my daily tasks are to get Mr. L water, pick up his takeout, deliver documents, and admire his peerless good looks while I'm at it.

The cool, the gentle, the mature, the playfully charming Mr. L, little by little, captures my heart.

At first

Mr. L: Your uncle specifically asked me to look after you, but I imagine the kind of care he meant was an uncle looking after his niece. I'm your uncle's friend, so to you, I'm an elder.

Later

Mr. L: To hell with being an elder! I want you.

What kind of... scandalous thing is that?

Before we started dating, Mr. L: Work, work, work.

After we started dating, Mr. L: Where's my Xiao Xin?

I want hugs, kisses, and everything else.

"You're the one I openly favor, the woman I want to protect for the rest of my life." Mr. L pulled me into his arms, his eyes full of desire. He was nothing like the Mr. L who used to care only about work.

I wriggled free of Mr. L, pulled a calculus workbook from my schoolbag, and smiled at him. "Uncle, could you help me with my homework first?"

Mr. L: "???"

Half an hour later, after solving only two problems, Mr. L pretended to be calm. "Has calculus gotten this hard?"

"Of course. Uncle, times have changed."

A few things to know
