Beitang Qiu was set up by someone with ulterior motives during a film shoot.

In the scene, the protagonist he played drew a magic circle, offering himself as a sacrifice to a demon and making a deal with it to gain its power and exact revenge.

The "schemer" gave him prop blood containing Beitang Qiu's own blood and told him to use it to complete the sacrificial circle, while also changing the original lines in the script. They wanted him to willingly sacrifice himself without realizing what he was doing.

But Beitang Qiu really had no talent for drawing, especially when faced with a mess of crooked lines he couldn't remember at all. To avoid making the director call for another take, he decided to improvise when he couldn't recall how to draw the symbol correctly: he just scribbled whatever came to mind!

By accidentally changing the "specific spirit-summoning ritual," the circle failed to make Beitang Qiu sacrifice himself to the soul they had prepared, as the schemer had planned.

The mansion where they were filming had a certain "evil spirit" sealed beneath it: Fu Yunzhou.

When Fu Yunzhou awoke from his slumber, he discovered that he was trapped in a magic circle. Aside from an instinctive sense that he had to break it so he could go find someone, he had no memories at all. He had spent hundreds of years painstakingly trying to break the damn seal, and just as he was about to succeed, some idiot performed a self-sacrifice nearby and, of all things, sacrificed himself to Fu Yunzhou!
