This is an unconventional cultivation novel. Why unconventional? Because unlike stories where the characters fight monsters, level up, and gradually achieve immortality, this is more like a tale of the strange and supernatural.
The opening is a little clichéd: domineering female CEO Nan Chenxing meets Ye Zinan, a naive little fool of mysterious origins. The CEO’s genuine feelings melt the fool’s heart, but then her business goes bankrupt and she is left dying of cancer. To save her, the little fool follows her to the underworld and makes a huge scene, securing her a place in the Ghost Soldiers. Thus begins the CEO’s life as a ghost cultivator. She also meets Hui Hui, possibly the only cultivator in the mortal world during the Age of the End of Dharma. Hui Hui’s identity in the mortal world is that of a police officer.
As the Three Realms crumble and demons run rampant, demon hunting becomes a highly lucrative profession. The business-minded CEO naturally seizes the opportunity, recruits Ming Chenqing, the commander of the Ghost Soldiers, and starts a mercenary company, embarking on a professional career of hunting demons and monsters.
Hui Hui and Ye Zinan are both shrouded in mystery. While working with Hui Hui, Ming Chenqing is gradually drawn to her. To help her recover her memories of a past life, she defies the laws of the underworld and transmigrates ten thousand years into the past to seek Hui Hui’s previous incarnation. Ye Zinan, meanwhile, has an inextricable connection to the Asura King, who seeks to overthrow Heaven and rule the world.
And with the Twin-Life Flowers appearing, rumors spread: “When the Twin-Life Flowers bloom, the world will be united.”
The complicated histories of Hui Hui and Ye Zinan seem to foreshadow something, but Nan Chenxing and Ming Chenqing gradually realize they may just be destined to play supporting roles, existing only to make the great figures shine. To break free of their tragic fate, they vow to cultivate hard and pursue their girlfriends together.
Of course, it has a happy ending.
There should also be several side couples, such as a straightforward female soldier and her scheming, scumbag superior.
Anyway, it’s a great story. Writing this much of a blurb was exhausting. If I’m too subtle, I can’t bring out how exciting the plot is, but if I write too much, I’ll spoil it. You’ll just have to read it for yourselves.
Updates begin on May 22.
Theme: Never give up hope, even when you’re trapped in despair.
Finally updated ('-ω??)
Oh, there is another thing that I don't agree with what Kassapa said is that women do not need to be educated about their image. What did Kassapa say, as if he was suppressing and disciplinary pua?
I don't agree with Kasyapa's point of view. A bad attitude should not have anything to do with whether the other person is beautiful or not. Women should not be bad and jealous of the same sex to engage in female competition.
Yes, Xiao Nan has a kind heart after the explosion.
Um, can you please stop using the diaosi perspective?
Why don't I see update reminders?
Let's box, the "extreme" kind
Since the underworld is aligned with the earth, it should be divided into east and west, as well as various countries. It can't be under Pluto's control, right? Or maybe other countries have different boundaries?
Is the Emperor of Heaven the woman in red who has different opinions from Taihua?
Of course the Emperor of Heaven is in the Heavenly Palace, but not at the base camp of the Underworld.
