1. Xia Xinghe was the apple of the Xia family's eye. Soft, sweet, and adorable, she had been sheltered from the ways of the world.

She first met Su Yu when she was six. He was a cool, moonlike boy whose school uniform had been washed almost white. He was the son of her family's housekeeper.

She loved sugar more than anything. Once, she made a wish upon a shooting star: if she could become Su Yu's girlfriend, she would give up candy forever.

The day before her eighteenth birthday, Su Yu ruined the cake she had painstakingly made, then rejected her confession.

Only later did she learn that the carefree life she had taken for granted had been "stolen." She wasn't a princess, and Su Yu was the prince. Overnight, she fell from the clouds into the dust. She wiped away her tears, left without hesitation, and returned what she owed him.

2.

Su Yu was the face of the People's Hospital in Jing City, a gifted dentist, and a highly eligible bachelor. But no matter how the young women flirted with him, he remained unmoved.

Rumors spread around the hospital. Some said he was gay; others said his longtime girlfriend had cheated on him and left him with a broken heart.

Then one day, at a dinner gathering, Dr. Su got drunk and wouldn't let go of the hand of a beautiful independent designer who had recently gone viral online. He kept repeating, "The Xia family, and I, are yours. Don't leave again, okay, Xia Xia?" He was stubborn and utterly humble.

Bonus scenes:

1. The two of them go home for the New Year together without announcing their relationship:

In the morning, his mother opened the door. "Xiao Yu, have you seen your sister?"

Su Yu, with his back to the door, said, "No."

After his mother's footsteps faded, Su Yu pulled the woman out from under his quilt. "We can't keep going on like this. When are you going to make our relationship official?"

2. After their son was born:

Son: "Dad, why did you study dentistry?"

Su Yu: "Because there's a little princess at home who has cavities and loves sweets."
