Dreaming Across the Starry River [Marriage Before Love]

Gentle and sensitive x refined scoundrel

When their friends learned that Ji Wei and Qin Mengtong were getting married, they were dumbfounded.

A close friend teased him that he was only going along with his family's wishes, and told him to have fun but not take it seriously.

Ji Wei scoffed. "We've known each other for over twenty years. Even if we shared a bed, we'd only fight over the blanket."

Everyone thought the two were merely making do, and that they would split up sooner or later. Sure enough, rumors that they were getting divorced spread like wildfire.

Qin Mengtong attended a banquet, but her high heels broke. She waited in a secluded corner for her assistant to bring her another pair.

All around her, people were gossiping that she was the least loved daughter of the Qin family, and that she could never measure up to someone from the prestigious Ji family.

She never got her assistant, but the man she'd argued with that very morning showed up instead.

She had been unmoved by the insults, but now her eyes stung. Stubbornly turning her face away, she said, "We're getting divorced. What are you doing here?"

Ji Wei crouched in front of her and helped her change her shoes. In a meek voice, he said, "Honey, can we make a deal? Even when you're angry with me, don't bite my mouth so hard. It still hurts."
