I Picked Up a Sea King

Yun Jiujiu transmigrates to a seaside town famed throughout the islands for all kinds of delicious seafood. She leads a wonderfully comfortable life.

That is, until one day, her fishing net catches a shimmering shell. When it opens, she finds a delicately beautiful little child with dragon horns lying inside.

"Little one, what’s your name?"

"Sea King."

I smack him flying with a shovel. What could be worse than calling yourself the Sea King?

Only then does Yun Jiujiu realize she hasn’t transmigrated to some ordinary fantasy world. People in this world have two forms. Even her good-for-nothing father, who spends his days indulging in wine and women, has a fierce black panther as his soul beast. And her beautiful, universally adored mother has a snow-white peacock that practically glows as her soul beast...

Yun Jiujiu thought she was already doing remarkably well, not knowing that others secretly pitied her as a good-for-nothing who couldn’t transform.

Yun Jiujiu: "..."

What’s so bad about being a normal person? , ?^?,

Until one day, vengeful spirits break through the gates of the underworld, the demon realm stirs up trouble, and darkness blankets the entire continent. A young woman is reborn through fire and takes to the skies as a phoenix. Darkness turns to ash wherever she goes, and the light returns. She becomes the one and only hope of salvation in this world.

Years later, Yun Jiujiu gives an interview in her seaside city:

"Phoenix Lord, what does it feel like to become a unique ancient divine beast, unlike anything the world has ever seen?"

"Don’t ask. It’s ridiculous. How did a black panther and a peacock produce a phoenix? And that’s not even the main question!"

Everyone: ...

The male lead was born a king, master of all the seas, and is known as the Sea King.

One day, Yun Jiujiu says to the little cutie, "Good boy, let Big Sister give you a name. How about Ye Liangchen?"

The little cutie thinks seriously, then shakes his head. "I am a dragon of the sea folk. Long Aotian is better."

Yun Jiujiu: "..."

She pats his head fondly. "If you’re sick, let’s take some medicine first."

PS:

1. The male lead has taken on a child’s form for certain reasons.

2. The male lead has a proper name.
