The Little Ginseng Gets Dug Up Again

Yu Shen was the first ginseng plant born at the dawn of creation, a primordial treasure coveted by everyone. To stay alive, she trained with all her might, greedily absorbing the essence of heaven and earth in hopes of becoming a mighty figure as soon as possible. Even after she became powerful, cultivators still couldn't take their eyes off her. While she slept, rooted in place, they would steal strands of her hair to eat, only to suffer indigestion and explode. One after another, people who stole and ate her hair died from bursting apart. Yu Shen figured that losing a couple of strands wouldn't threaten her life, so she slept easy. In that sleep, she accidentally avoided a great calamity that befell heaven and earth. By then, someone had dug her up and placed her in a very pretty box. She heard a few mortal maids say they were going to stew her to nourish their young mistress. Yu Shen glanced at the frail young lady and clicked her tongue in amazement. So weak! If she blew on her, the girl would probably drop dead. Yu Shen realized that this mortal young lady didn't seem to look at her with the usual greedy gaze. She watched the girl every day and found the frail mortal quite interesting. She also learned that her name was Li You. Everyone in the manor urged You Jiu to eat the ginseng, but Li You kept refusing. Yu Shen finally couldn't hold back any longer. When she and Li You were alone, she jumped out of the box. Yu Shen: "You can't eat me." Li You was merely a little surprised. "So you're a little ginseng spirit. I wasn't planning to eat you, and now that you've become a spirit, I certainly won't." Yu Shen: "Good. You'd better not eat me, or you'll face consequences you can't handle." Just think of all those cultivators who'd stolen and eaten her hair, only to explode. Yu Shen: "I like you, so you can hold me while you sleep at night." She completely concealed her aura. If the girl held her while she slept every night, it would help restore her health. Li You: "You shameless little ginseng." After that, Li You held the little ginseng while she slept every night. One day, she even asked when she could kiss her. Yu Shen: "You're too weak. You can't kiss me. One kiss and you'll die." [Synopsis screenshot taken] Theme: Charge ahead fearlessly!
