Neither My Landlord Nor I Are Human

Next Story: Making Her Play the Villain, But She Can't Be Bad [Quick Transmigration] Blurb One: The night Jian Yi moved into her new rental, a red-tailed cat appeared outside her window. She ignored it; the landlady didn't allow pets. The red-tailed cat came every night, watching her from outside the window with an air of haughty indifference. As they gradually grew familiar, Jian Yi would chat with the cat about her day, even though it never replied. One day, the landlady, who hated pets, asked her, "Why don't you get a cat?" Jian Yi: "I thought pets weren't allowed?" The landlady: "Cats are different. Give it a try." That night, the red-tailed cat showed up right on time, with "Please adopt me" written all over her face. There's a story circulating in the world of occult arts about a woman and a red-tailed cat. They say evil spirits tremble and run when they see the pair. Blurb Two: Jian Yi is a fake celestial master, but she's more powerful than the real ones. She catches yin spirits without any tools, using nothing but her mouth. And no, she isn't bluffing. She has a cat she found. She thought her life would be about working for food, supporting herself and her cat, and scooping the litter every day. She didn't expect to work for food and get fed by her cat wife every day. [This is an imaginative, fictional fantasy world. Don't believe in superstition or apply this to real life. No nitpicking over details, and there are tons of original additions made to serve the plot.] Coming Soon, Girls' Love: The Tragic Beauty and Powerhouse Finds Love [Quick Transmigration] Before meeting the woman with all the secret identities, Zhi Xun had traveled through countless little worlds. In every world, she was a wretched creature everyone hated and no one loved. Even when she clawed her way to the top, people bowed to her only because they feared her strength, and supported her only because of her strength. All she had around her was betrayal and scheming. In this life, she transmigrates into the body of a wealthy heiress who was kidnapped. Tired of all the fighting and trickery, she's about to fall asleep when a bright-eyed girl beside her shakes her awake. "Don't give up. I'll get you out of here." Now she has a talkative, expressive little sidekick whose dream is to become rich. As it happens, Zhi Xun is already rich, so she waves a hand and gives her all her wealth. The other girl says she can't repay her except by offering herself, and just like that, Zhi Xun has a girlfriend. Zhi Xun thinks this will be her final life before falling asleep forever, but it turns out this is only the beginning. The woman with all the secret identities keeps appearing by her side in all sorts of roles. Zhi Xun once saved her, gave her a meal, or lent her a piece of clothing and helped her out with a few words. And now she wants to offer herself in return again. With someone who has eyes only for her by her side, Zhi Xun decides that living isn't so bad after all. Nothing else matters anymore. The Little Ginseng Gets Dug Up Again Yu Shen is the first ginseng plant, born at the dawn of creation, an innate spiritual treasure coveted by everyone. To stay alive, she cultivates with all her might, greedily absorbing the essence of heaven and earth so she can become a powerhouse as soon as possible. Once she becomes a great powerhouse, cultivators still can't stop themselves from staring at her. They sneak her hair while she's rooted down and asleep, then eat it. To their surprise, they can't digest it and explode. One after another, people steal strands of her hair, eat them, and burst apart. Yu Shen figures that losing a couple of hairs won't threaten her life, so she goes back to sleep without a care. As it happens, that nap lets her accidentally avoid a catastrophe that destroys heaven and earth. When she wakes, someone has dug her up and put her in a beautiful box. She hears a few mortal maids say they plan to stew her and feed her to their young lady to improve her health. Yu Shen glances at the frail young lady and marvels at how weak she is. If Yu Shen blew on her, she'd probably die on the spot. Yu Shen notices that the mortal young lady doesn't look at her with the usual greedy stare. She watches the girl every day and finds the frail mortal quite interesting. She also learns that the girl is called You Jiu. Everyone in the household urges You Jiu to eat the ginseng, but You Jiu keeps refusing. Yu Shen finally can't take it anymore and, while she and You Jiu are alone, jumps out of the box. Yu Shen: "You can't eat me." You Jiu is only a little surprised. "So you're a ginseng spirit. I wasn't planning to eat you anyway, and now that you've gained sentience, I definitely won't." Yu Shen: "Good thing you won't, or you'd face consequences you couldn't handle." Just think of all those cultivators who stole and ate her hair, only to explode. Yu Shen: "I like you. You can hold me while you sleep at night." She completely suppresses her aura, so being held every night will help the other girl's health. You Jiu: "You shameless little ginseng." Later, You Jiu holds the little ginseng every night when she sleeps. One day, she even asks when she can kiss her. Yu Shen: "You're too weak. You can't kiss me. You'd die if you did."
