----Novel Blurb----
[Plot]
Jiang Quzhou is a feng shui master who grew up in a Taoist temple. He became famous at a young age and could do it all: read faces, tell fortunes, interpret the trigrams, and divine the future. Unfortunately, one day he took pity on someone and revealed heavenly secrets. Heaven punished him with a lightning strike, and the young prodigy died just like that. He thought he would be reincarnated in the underworld, but when he woke up, he found himself in a strange world, in the body of someone people called a "star" and an "actor." And this face of his was surprisingly handsome.
Little Jiang sighed. "Sigh, did I reveal heavenly secrets so badly that even the underworld won't take me?"
The owner of this body had wanted to become a movie emperor. What exactly was a movie emperor, anyway? As a Taoist practitioner, Jiang Quzhou believed in making the best of things. Since he had taken over someone else's body, he ought to help fulfill that person's wish. Acting didn't seem so hard. And every so often, he could tell someone's fortune on set and make useful connections to help his career.
The film director whose home feng shui he had assessed: "Jiang, I have a movie here. Are you free to act in it?"
The investor who had been single for ages until Jiang told his fortune and helped him find a partner: "Jiang, what's your next movie? Do you need an investor?"
Haters: "You really tell fortunes? Why not just be an actor instead of turning into some con artist? What a fraud!"
Fans: "Did our brother get brain damage in that car accident and suddenly unlock fortune-telling skills?"
Jiang Quzhou: "How dare you speak such nonsense!"
[Couple Version]
The first time Jiang Quzhou met his boss, Luo Xingtang, he said, "Good sir, I see darkness between your brows. A calamity may befall you soon. I have a protective talisman here. It can ward off disaster if trouble comes, and keep you safe if it doesn't!"
The icy, aloof, and merciless Mr. Luo replied calmly, "Get lost. Are you sick?"
Jiang Quzhou frowned at his young assistant. "Everyone has their own opinions, but he doesn't believe me. He'll regret it sooner or later."
The assistant said, "The boss is a materialist. He doesn't believe in superstition and firmly believes science can explain everything."
Little Jiang was baffled. "What's a materialist? Is science some kind of profound theory?"
The assistant: "..." Daily wondering if his boss's brain had short-circuited.gif
Luo Xingtang: "There are no ghosts in this world. What people call ghosts are just the result of light refraction."
Jiang Quzhou took his hand and smeared something over his eyes. For the first time, Luo Xingtang saw the "result of light refraction" Jiang had been talking about. He gritted his teeth and muttered, "Damn..."
Jiang Quzhou glanced at the man gripping his hand tightly. The previous moment, he had been calmly arguing back. Now, he could barely speak without trembling. Jiang smiled and asked, "Are you afraid of ghosts?"
Luo, all talk and no action, Xingtang: "W-Who... Who's afraid?"
#I see darkness between your brows. Ward off disaster and avoid financial loss. Want to buy a talisman?#
#I'll say it again: I'm not a con artist or a fraud! I'm not!#
#Good sir, want your fortune told? Ten yuan a reading. What kind of person are you?#
