The Heavenly Dao's Underachiever

[Please add my new novel, Medicine, to your reading list!]

Late at night, the Heavenly Dao, cigarette in mouth, typed a post on the forum:

#A look back at the Children of the Heavenly Dao I've mentored over the years#

He blew out a smoke ring and said slowly, in a world-weary voice:

“Damn, every generation is more outrageous than the last.”

As a Child of the Heavenly Dao, Lin Lang's first gifts were talent and beauty. Yet the Heavenly Dao insisted that she cultivate the Ruthless Dao, forcing her to be reborn again and again through deception and exploitation.

Who could have expected that after completing her trials, Lin Lang would fail to become the cold, merciless, aloof Child of the Heavenly Dao the Heavenly Dao had hoped for?

Instead, she became clear-hearted, serene, and natural, with primordial violet energy within her... a little sweetheart.

The Eight Wastes and Six Realms forum was filled with the Heavenly Dao's furious outbursts:

“She was so beautiful that anyone who looked at her would die, and then she took the role of a nation-toppling seductress and played it as a story of one love for a lifetime?!”

“I let you captivate all living beings, but I never told you to seduce Xu Jingxin, that rock-hard seed of a demon! Did you even know who he was before you started dating him? Are you trying to make me blush in front of everyone?”

The forum was soon flooded with trending posts:

#Shocking: The troublemaking student personally makes a move on the Heavenly Dao? #

#The old-timer has lost his dignity#

#My rebellious child has broken my heart#

But against all expectations, this poor student, personally chosen and thoroughly disliked by the Heavenly Dao, turned out to be the only cultivator in this tribulation to unite with the Dao, attain the truth, and become a saint.

The Heavenly Dao: “...”

#Definitely the worst class I've ever had!#

Note: The male lead is an entity born from the Heavenly Dao.
