[Looking for a few more saves for my ongoing novel next door, Hidden Summer! And please add my next book, Sweet as Honey After Marriage, to your to-read list!]
Lu Ran fell for a man for the first time when she was eighteen.
He was nine years older than her, a battalion commander in the Shencheng Army Special Operations Brigade, and the youngest son of her grandfather's old comrade-in-arms. His name was Lin Youqi.
He was handsome, roguishly charming, and untamed, with phoenix eyes that tilted up at the outer corners. Whenever he glanced at her, he wore a half-smile, as if he were flirting with her.
Lu Ran heard that he was still single, so she summoned her courage and confessed her feelings.
All she got in return was a casual, “I'm not interested in kids.”
Then, one time when he came home on leave, he heard Lu Ran asking her grandfather to set her up with a soldier for a blind date.
Lin Youqi immediately panicked. “A blind date? How old are you, anyway?”
Lu Ran looked innocent. “I just want to date a handsome soldier.”
Lin Youqi gave a mocking laugh. “Fine, you like soldiers, huh? I'll set you up with one.”
One day later, Lu Ran went to meet the man Lin Youqi had arranged for her, only to discover that the man was Lin Youqi himself.
Lu Ran: “I thought you promised me a handsome soldier?”
Lin Youqi asked coldly, “What's wrong with me?”
Lu Ran blinked, then replied with a straight face, “You're not quite right for me. Aren't you a little old? I'm not interested in old men.”
Lin Youqi: “...”:)
[Bonus scene:]
The night Lin Youqi turned her down, Lu Ran marked as complete the novel she had written with him as the male lead, giving it a bad ending.
One day, after Lin Youqi had started pursuing Lu Ran, he learned that she was a web novelist and had written a tragedy based on him.
He stayed up all night reading it, right through to the end, where he found the heroine's final confession:
This first love came to nothing.
But he truly came into my life,
like a typhoon sweeping through,
upending the entire island of my heart.

“When you think of summer, who's the first person you think of?”
Xiang Nuan: “Luo Xia.”
1) When she was seventeen, Xiang Nuan transferred to Shencheng and reunited with Luo Xia, her childhood friend whom she hadn't seen in eleven years.
She recognized him at first glance, but he had long since forgotten her.
Back then, Xiang Nuan was quiet and pretty, but unremarkable. Luo Xia, on the other hand, shone like the midsummer sun, admired and loved by many girls. Xiang Nuan became one of them.
Unfortunately, even by the end of their senior year, they were still just ordinary classmates.
Before graduation, Xiang Nuan worked up the courage to ask Luo Xia to fill out a page in her yearbook.
The wish he wrote for her was no different from the one he wrote for everyone else: “May your future be bright.”
In Luo Xia's eyes, Xiang Nuan was nothing special. Like all the other girls at school, she was merely an insignificant corner of summer.
2) Years later, Xiang Nuan and Luo Xia met again at a hospital.
He was now a surgeon, and she was his patient.
Xiang Nuan had thought that the man who had occupied her entire youth would, as before, turn around and forget her.
But this time, Luo Xia etched her deep into his heart.
“Xiang Nuan, would you give me a chance?”
I secretly gave you so many chances, but you never noticed.
3) Eventually, Luo Xia finally won Xiang Nuan's heart.
One day after they moved in together, Luo Xia happened to find Xiang Nuan's high school yearbook in the study.
He found the page he'd written on, and in doing so uncovered the secret Xiang Nuan had kept buried for years.
After the words “May your future be bright” was the secret love that had filled a young girl's entire youth:
“I secretly tucked the summers with you into every one of my days.”
When he proposed that year, Luo Xia dropped to one knee and said to Xiang Nuan with utmost seriousness, “Xiang Nuan, from now on, please let me be your summer.”
· Opens in high school, with the heroine secretly in love with the hero; after they reunite as adults, he pursues her.
· As adults: female architect × male surgeon
Theme: You are the one and only person in my life, and I must never let you down. While life is peaceful and beautiful, cherish the person beside you.

When will the second generation be launched?
I finally finished reading it. I love every couple in it. They are all so sweet. I couldn't put my mouth down. Although, my favorites are our Lu Ran and Lin Youqi. They are so sweet and greasy. I really I love them both so much that I won't be able to stop talking if I don't talk about them anymore. Then I wish our Lu Ran and Lin Youqi will be sweet and loving in your world until they grow old together. I also wish that every pair of supporting characters in it can be in love with each other for a lifetime!
I have given up. It seems that Song Sizhou and Ye hope will not appear alone.
Ahhhhhhh, I'm really looking forward to the second generation of the novel. I'm looking forward to the second generation of the novel. Congratulations on finishing it successfully!
