*Not quite a groveling-forgiveness story

At twenty, Fang Yutong was passionate and forthright. He gave his first crush to Yu Xiao, a cool director who also worked as a photographer.

When they first met, Fang Yutong said, "Hey, cool guy. Want to be friends?"

They never became friends. Through a twist of fate, they became friends with benefits instead.

They'd known each other for two months. Every time Fang Yutong took a step closer, Yu Xiao took a step back.

Just as Fang Yutong finally worked up the courage to take a big step toward him, Yu Xiao left the country without looking back and deleted every Weibo post that had anything to do with Fang Yutong.

When someone asked about it under his latest post, Yu Xiao replied with two words: "I'm bored."

Fang Yutong's life had always gone smoothly. The biggest setback he'd faced in twenty years was being dumped before he could even confess.

-

Five years later.

At twenty-five, Fang Yutong worked diligently at his acting career and successfully won Best Actor. He couldn't care less about romance.

Both inside and outside the industry, people said he was an untouchable flower atop a sheer peak, with a layer of ice that would never melt.

Then Fang Yutong unexpectedly reunited with Yu Xiao, and cracks began to appear in his defenses.

Fang Yutong panicked and did everything he could to stay away from Yu Xiao.

But Yu Xiao, who had once seemed to want nothing to do with anyone, now openly doted on him without the slightest attempt to hide it.

Every time Fang Yutong took a step back, Yu Xiao took two big steps toward him.

"If you don't want to continue, we don't have to. Want to start over?"

"If we don't start over, can I still pursue you?"

Five years of acting hadn't been for nothing. Fang Yutong pretended not to care, flawlessly, until one day he got a call from Yu Xiao, drunk. His voice was hoarse and magnetic: "If you won't let me pursue you, do you still like me?"

Fang Yutong replied coldly, "I like it when you stay away from me."

+ Fang Yutong maintained excellent professional discipline, acting perfectly throughout.

From turning him down to playing hard to get, he still looked cool and aloof. But sharp-eyed fans noticed something was off.

Their Best Actor seemed to be acting.

Later, when Yu Xiao's show aired, fans realized something was even more off!

The ambiguous touches, the subtle glances between them...

Their cool, aloof Best Actor wasn't just acting! He was practically fishing for a bite!
