The Little Matter of Flirting with the God of Charm

The High God Nanhui planted a lovesick plum tree on Mount Cangwu. He tended it carefully for a full thousand years, until it finally bore one lovesick fruit. In the end, a little azure luan bird stole it. He chased the greedy little bird all the way from Mount Cangwu to Xizhou Island, crossing half the divine realm before finally catching her. The fluffy azure luan blinked at him innocently, burped, and spat out the fruit pit. In a fit of anger, he took the little bird back to Mount Cangwu and ordered her to tend the lovesick plum tree in the plum garden. She would not be allowed to leave until it bore fruit again. As they spent their days together, he slowly realized that the little azure luan was terribly foolish: She could not swim, yet she plunged into Lake Shennian just to fetch him a cup of water that would wash away his worries. She was no good at fighting, yet she ventured into the Nine Hells and risked her life to retrieve his Zhuguang Sword. Her cultivation was so weak, yet when the Godslaying Whip came down, she unhesitatingly stepped in front of him. She was so foolish that Nanhui wanted nothing more than to hide her away and give her a world free of worry for all eternity.
