Qing Gu of the Great Liang General's residence was the least Qianyuan-like Qianyuan in the world.
Slender and delicate, with a gentle voice and a faint, warm scent of snow tea, she was raised by her parents as a Kunze, kept secluded in the inner quarters. They planned to find her a live-in son-in-law one day and spoil her like a precious jewel for the rest of her life.
But Qing Gu refused.
She was infatuated with someone. To help him conceal her identity as a Kunze, she willingly married him and claimed to the outside world that her husband, born to a lowborn mother, was the Qianyuan.
Later, her husband ascended the throne and ordered the imperial physicians to secretly remove the mark on the back of her neck.
Qing Gu sat there and watched the man in imperial robes approach. His jade-like face still wore its familiar smile. Then he bestowed a cup of wine upon her.
"Wenwen."
He called her by her childhood name and said calmly, "I need to consolidate my control over the military. I can't let you live."
The Qing family had a daughter named Gu, whose childhood name was Wenwen. She was the emperor's first wife from before he took the throne. Benefiting from her father's legacy, she held the rank of Second-Rank General of the Weiyuan Army. After thirteen years in the military, with the help of the generals under her command, she became a fearsome figure whose reputation spread in every direction. Even the barbarians dared not invade. Later, she raised an army of two hundred thousand and plotted to usurp the throne. Her crime warranted death. She was sentenced to be torn apart by chariots, and her body was left in the wilderness, unburied, until it became a skeleton.
[She had no regrets to her dying breath, but that was only a boast. She died once, and when she opened her eyes again, she changed her mind about the things she had never regretted.]
