Synopsis: (In other words, it's OOC) (There's still time to turn back) (Gotham personified, B-line) (This Batman doesn't raise birds, please)
The Justice League fights metahumans while getting stabbed in the back. Superman joins the metahuman side, and no one can stop a Superman without weaknesses. (He only gets stronger with age. Kryptonite is pretty useless, and so is a red sun.)
Old Supes handles the food crisis. Since he never met Batman, he learns to solve problems on his own. He makes a complete mess of things, but settles on a path for the future.
Since things are such a mess at the start, Bruno, aka Batman, aka Gotham, can't stand watching any longer and anonymously sends him a compressed file.
While Old Supes is building the world, the old reporter moves to Gotham and wins over Gotham City's flower.
They both know the other has secrets, but tacitly agree that as long as the other doesn't say anything, they'll pretend not to know. Each is confident they won't get caught.
One day, the violently brutal Batman runs into Old Supes, who has come to break up a fight. The old reporter and the city flower stare in shock.
A few years later, Batman finds tons of kryptonite, takes half of it, and kills Superman. He then spends half a year killing off the rest of the Justice League.
Two years after Superman's death, Gotham City's flower dies suddenly of a heart attack while giving a speech.
Gotham's citizens discover that the city flower was actually their lord. Then, beneath Wayne Manor, in the Batcave, they find his last words and final contingency plan.
(P.S. I think I should be able to finish this in under 300,000 words.)
Theme: Who will hit the brakes? Batman will.
