In the Name of Wayne

Eros Wayne grew up listening to legends about the Dark Knight.

They told her that, long ago, this world had superheroes.

The red cape in the sky, a symbol of hope, belonged to Superman.

The flash of light speeding through the city was the Flash.

The green glow shimmering in the depths of space was Green Lantern.

The dark figure standing silently on a rooftop gargoyle was Batman.

What is a hero?

Her teacher assigned an essay on the subject.

In Eros's essay, heroes were the Son of Tomorrow, the God of Man, people with all kinds of superpowers, the Dark Knight, the silent guardian, and ordinary people who were both weak and strong.

This world yearned for heroes. This world had no heroes left.

Ten years ago, the Justice League fell.

Today, ten years later, humanity's last resistance base was overrun. Eros put down her pen, carefully folded her essay, and calmly faced their final end.

When she opened her eyes again, skyscrapers rose behind her and traffic streamed past in front of her. She had arrived in Gotham twenty years in the past, where she saw the dark figure leaping through the night.

God, if there really is a god in this world...

Thank you for letting me see this beautiful world.

She wanted to embrace it with everything she had.

1. The female lead is Damian's daughter and a member of the resistance.

2. The entire cast has family-oriented relationships. No romance in the main story (probably).

3. A healing short story based on a plot bunny, updated whenever the author feels like it.
