I Went Viral After Fighting with My Survival Show Mentor

Yu Cheng was known throughout the entertainment industry as a jinx, and he lived up to the reputation. Every show he appeared in was doomed to flop. Whether it was a lead role, a supporting role, or an OST, anything involving him was bound to go wrong. After three years as an actor without ever showing his face on screen, his company had no choice but to kick him onto a talent show.

Meanwhile, Lu Qingheng had a smooth ride to stardom. Movies, TV dramas, singing, dancing, variety shows, he was beloved in every field. Everything he filmed became a hit, and every subject he picked turned into a sensation. He was practically a cheat code for the entertainment industry, and at a young age, he became a mentor on the talent show.

By sheer coincidence, the two lived across the hall from each other. They clashed on the show and fought at home, too. Then one day, their curtains were left open, and paparazzi caught everything. The episode's ratings soared, with eight consecutive limit-up days that terrified the distributors. Overnight, advertisers lined up outside their door, eager to invest.

Yu Cheng became an overnight sensation. His fanbase gained two zeroes, and one shelved drama after another started airing on major channels. Every frame was shared tens of thousands of times with praise for his acting. Even the art film he'd shot as a last-minute replacement at the start of his career became a dark horse, beating the competition to win Best Picture at a film festival. Yu Cheng, who had spent so long in the shadows thinking his career would never take off, felt as if he'd won eight hundred million in a phone-bill lottery.

From then on, Lu Qingheng had a human-shaped lucky charm clinging to him.

"The old saying was right! You really are blessed. Come on, let me rub against you. It'll bring me good luck!"

"That costs extra," said Lu Qingheng, the human koi fish.

"Then if we date, can I rub against you for free?"
