What Did Dazai Do Wrong? [Bungo Stray Dogs + Cthulhu]

I am Dazai, Dazai Osamu of C137.

The universe is vast and multiversal, and worlds emerge one after another. Across different timelines and dimensions:

I am the young bodyguard who joined the Port Mafia, and the shameless senior who defected to the Armed Detective Agency.

I am the mysterious boss who rules with absolute power, and I can also become the Snow White who turns traitor.

Hahaha, has anything changed?

Nothing.

Humanity wages war, worlds are destroyed, and the universe will eventually explode.

Every version of me is searching for the same answer, as though abstract inventions like meaning, purpose, and value could make some kind of difference.

But that's utterly stupid.

The world and existence are forever meaningless. Seeking explanations is just an escape. For every Dazai to realize his ideals through philosophy is absurd.

Except for me,

I refuse to sneer at it. I don't think meaninglessness itself is a problem.

Think about it, guys. If our existence is identical to ourselves, does that mean we are omniscient and omnipotent?

If we are omniscient and omnipotent, does everything cease to be real?

I mean nothing to this world, just as the world means nothing to me.

We are nothing but jumbled symbols. Whatever you do, don't mistake them for something you can rearrange at random...
