Spring of Beautiful Jade

Yu Tanchun, the beloved daughter of a general's household, was born with ethereal beauty, unrivaled beneath the heavens.

But her spoiled, flamboyant, overbearing nature made her despised by everyone in the capital!

She fell in love with Meng Zheng, a male slave, and was willing to give him everything,

even if it meant offending Prince Chen, her future betrothed.

Prince Chen sneered. "One day, you'll regret this."

Meng Zheng lowered his eyes. "This slave is unworthy of the young lady. Please, have some respect for yourself."

But Yu Tanchun rejected Prince Chen without hesitation and left with Meng Zheng.

From then on, the two rode beneath bright skies, sword in hand, roaming the world.

Seven years later, Yu Tanchun hit her head and injured her brain.

Her memories returned to the year she was fifteen, when she was still the beloved daughter of a general's household.

She discovered she was locked in a dazzling, golden cage?

Yu Tanchun panicked a little.

Even more frightening,

the handsome male slave, Meng Zheng, whom she had gone to such lengths to acquire,

was standing before the golden cage with a weary look on his face.

He was dressed in luxurious furs, his bearing noble, and his gaze fixed on her was dark and unreadable?

To hide her panic, Yu Tanchun raised her chin haughtily and pretended to scorn Meng Zheng.

"Meng Zheng! Have you gotten a death wish, locking me in a cage? Hmph! If you don't want to die, let me out this instant!"

Emperor Meng Zheng's eyes were bloodshot. In a hoarse voice, he said, "A Chun, first promise me you'll never leave me."

Later...

One day, Yu Tanchun said furiously to Meng Zheng, "Pah! You think you're worthy of wanting me?"

The emperor knelt on one knee before her, holding one of her embroidered shoes in one hand and lifting her delicate foot with the other. He begged her in a low voice, his tone humble to the point of groveling. "You're right, I'm not worthy... A Chun, the ground is cold. How about we put your shoe on first..."

After being reborn, the male lead tries to win his wife back, but no matter how hard he tries, he just can't.

(The male lead is reborn only after becoming emperor, and the heroine will regain her memories later.)
