Doing a Little Soul-Saving Charity Today, Too

. Lu Xuzhou is the successor of the Lingyi Sect. Ahem, although it has only been passed down for two generations and consists of just him and his master, it's still an organization officially recognized as a partner by the Underworld. What is Lingyi? Just as the name suggests: public service for spirits! To put it simply, it's an organization that does charity work for ghosts. Whether it's a vengeful female ghost who killed herself for love, a vicious little ghost who can't rest in peace, or any of countless others, Lu Xuzhou offers them ghostly compassion (not because he's after the merit points the Underworld gives him, of course), showing them humane concern and compassion (confining them) and kindness (brainwashing them). In the end, he reforms these ghosts and arranges for them to be reincarnated. Lu Xuzhou loves his job dearly. The problem is... one ghost needs one mouth fed, ten ghosts need ten mouths fed, and a hundred ghosts need a hundred mouths fed. The Underworld doesn't subsidize their living expenses in the human world, and he's almost unable to afford to feed all these vicious ghosts! Just as Lu Xuzhou was fretting over this, a wealthy businessman knocked on the gate of his family compound. "Hello, are you Master Lu, the ghost hunter and demon slayer?" Lu Xuzhou: "No, I work in spirit welfare." "Ah, yes, yes, spirit work! That's what I meant! Master, I've finally found you. Will you do a job for five million? I'll give you an extra reward after you get rid of that little ghost!" Lu Xuzhou: "...Deal." To be clear, Lu Xuzhou raises ghosts, imprisons ghosts, and reforms ghosts, but that's a right granted to him by the Underworld. He absolutely does not hunt ghosts. But for money, there's nothing he can't do!!! Raise ghosts for a day, put them to work for a while. With one ding, call up a ghost online. Lu Xuzhou: Everyone, do a good job. Once we beat this ghost to death, we'll have money to buy incense and candles and enjoy offerings! I wasn't very good at writing the original idea, so I changed it. It's still supernatural fiction.
