Coming soon: The Empress Keeps Her Cards Close
[The male lead appears as a child at first]
[Only four chapters in total. Please support the official release, thank you!]
The setup comes early; the main plot unfolds in the middle and later chapters.
Wen Yunmo’s luck has been terrible lately. Not only did her ex cheat on her, but her boss also tore into her over a client. In the end, she gave her boss the cold shoulder and quit. When she got home, she found that the things she’d ordered still hadn’t shipped, and then her mother called to nag her about getting married.
Already in a foul mood, she threw her phone. She thought she’d finally get a moment of peace, but the phone she’d just broken somehow restored itself and was lying safe and sound on her bed.
Wen Yunmo: “This is haunted!”
To avoid being disturbed again, Wen Yunmo takes out her SIM card, turns off her phone, and locks it in a safe.
But when she opens her eyes again, she finds herself in an unfamiliar place.
Before she can figure out what’s going on, something hits her. Only then does she realize her phone has come with her to this strange place.
Wen Yunmo: “Didn’t I lock my phone in the safe?”
After she transmigrates, her phone keeps harassing her, insisting that she marry a phone. In a fit of anger, Wen Yunmo throws it into the water, hoping to get rid of the now-malfunctioning device once and for all.
To her surprise, the phone turns into a little boy who comes looking for her and even helps her when she’s in trouble.
Looking at the boy in front of her, Wen Yunmo feels awkward, but she can’t bring herself to send him away again. In the end, though, the little boy leaves on his own.
It’s only much later that Wen Yunmo learns why he left her.
Question: “What should you do when your phone runs out of battery?”
Wen Yunmo: “Feed it like a normal person. Then it’ll have power.”
Mo Jijing: “That just replenishes its energy. If you want it to have a charge...”
Wen Yunmo: “Get lost!”
CP: Male lead who keeps turning into a phone × kind-hearted, short-tempered female lead
● Reading Guide ●
· One-on-one romance.
· The male lead has run out of spiritual power, so he can only maintain his phone form. Even when he takes human form, he can’t turn into an adult, though he is an adult in age.
· The female lead has a short fuse and explodes at the slightest provocation, but she’s kindhearted and good-natured.
· The supporting characters’ names are hard to pronounce, but they’re divine beasts and artifacts, so that’s why they’re named this way. For now, I’ve given approximate pronunciations. I’ll mention them again in the author’s notes when they appear.
- Wang (forget)
- Zhaoji (bright scenery)
- Duying (poison shadow)
- Qingyi (light one)
- Moyun (strange cloud)
- Yunmo (cloud ink)
· The writing is a little amateurish, seriously slow-paced, and somewhat meandering.
· I checked the manuscript once before posting, but there may still be typos. Let me know if you spot any and I’ll fix them if I see your comment.
· Let me know if you spot any □□ and I’ll fix them if I see them.

From the male lead’s perspective. The previous emperor was a scumbag, but the male lead isn’t.
Please add it to your collection! (Rolls around)
Xia Minghe wakes up one morning and finds that he has transmigrated.
He thinks he’s ended up in an ordinary person’s body, so he tells himself, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do. It’ll be fine. People in ancient times aren’t monsters or demons.”
But Xia Minghe never imagined he’d transmigrate into the body of an emperor!
He’s an antisocial shut-in with a degree in engineering. Now he has to face three thousand beauties in the harem. How is he supposed to survive in this era?
Eunuch: “Your Majesty, please rest assured. The Empress is currently the only person in the harem.”
Xia Minghe: “So the three thousand beauties in the harem were just a lie?”
Eunuch: “Didn’t Your Majesty say you didn’t want to take any more consorts?”
But Xia Minghe never expected that as soon as he stepped outside the palace hall, a gorgeously dressed woman would sidle up to him in an affected, coquettish manner.
Eunuch: “Because Your Majesty said that instead of taking a new consort, it would be better to enjoy a different beauty every day.”
Xia Minghe: “...”
Xia Minghe decides to ignore the former emperor’s debauchery for now and focus on becoming a good emperor.
Just as he’s about to go to court, he sees his empress outside the palace hall.
Mo Ziyuan: “Your Majesty, what brings you here?”
Xia Minghe: “I’m here to attend court.”
Mo Ziyuan: “Your Majesty, should I fetch the imperial physician?”
Xia Minghe: “Why?”
Mo Ziyuan: “Are you ill, Your Majesty? Why would you suddenly want to attend court?”
Xia Minghe: “...”
Xia Minghe had thought he could live out his life in peace, but then he discovers that his empress is anything but ordinary...
Mo Ziyuan: “Meow?”
Xia Minghe: “...”
