Lu Pingping was born in the old era. She grew up in luxury, and when she came of age, she was as lovely as a flower.

Liu Zhijiang had been a poor farmhand since childhood. He grew up eating whatever neighbors could spare, doing the hardest work and suffering the most.

In the early years of the People's Republic, all the unmarried officers came to a matchmaking event. Liu Zhijiang knew exactly what he wanted: a woman like Auntie Wang, who could work hard and wasn't delicate.

Later, he married a dainty beauty with a slim waist, long legs, and a shapely bottom, who couldn't do a single chore and would whimper and cry for ages over even a tiny cut on her finger. He loved it!

When Lu Pingping was little, she once closed her eyes and made a wish upon a shooting star: when she grew up, she wanted to marry a refined, scholarly, fair-skinned man. But instead... she married a battle-hardened soldier, rough on the outside but not within, and the best fighter around. Sob, sob.

A simple, beautiful, delicate young lady X a calculating, tough, rugged military officer
