The Kite Says Nothing

Original title: Sinking.

Everyone in Beijing's business circles knew that the business prodigy Gu Qingrang had a fiancee from a family of equal standing.

The young lady was a refined beauty with fair skin and long legs, and her heart was wholly devoted to Gu Qingrang. Unfortunately, Gu Qingrang was cold and unfeeling, and found his fiancee incredibly irritating.

The marriage alliance between Song Xianning and Gu Qingrang was the envy of everyone, but only Song Xianning knew that a chasm and a contract stood between them.

She thought that with enough time, Gu Qingrang would eventually fall in love with her. Until one day

"You really don't like Song Xianning at all?"

Gu Qingrang's gaze was cold. His handsome, sensual lips curled into a contemptuous sneer. "She's just a pretty pawn. Clingy and annoying. What's there to like?"

Song Xianning felt as if she had plunged into an icy abyss. That very day, she packed her things and moved out of the Gu family home.

After Song Xianning left, Gu Qingrang carried on as if nothing had happened, still living the high life.

At a business banquet some time later, Song Xianning, dazzling above all the other women, was cornered by the restroom. The man reeked of alcohol, the corners of his eyes bloodshot, his voice trembling as he pleaded, "Will you come home with me?"

/Gu Qingrang had never loved anyone before. Once he did, he loved with everything he had./

Note:

1. The male lead has character flaws, but he'll change later on. The characters' values do not represent the author's.

2. Coincidences and misunderstandings are all there to move the plot along. Please don't overthink them or try to tell me how to write. If it's not for you, feel free to stop reading.

3. Red-eye literature, waist-grabbing literature.

4. Both are virgins. One-on-one.
