Dreams Return to the World

A long time ago, I thought that no matter how much time passed, when I came back, I'd still see you smiling as you always had. But later I learned that nothing lasts forever. Even though I learned the clichéd lesson that you only cherish something after you've lost it, I still failed to keep my promise to stay by your side. This story is a tribute to the old version of Tianxia II, which kept me company for a year. Although it has an online game setting, it's a xianxia story. Set in the world of the old Tianxia II, it tells the story of a world full of life, where people are born and die. The video shows some of the old Tianxia II's scenery, and every chapter will also include screenshots from the game. The old Tianxia II is gone. I realized this just as the new Tianxia II began its closed beta. To me, this game kept me and so many others company. Even though it had many flaws, and even though it was never fully developed, I still remember every blade of grass and tree that grew in its embrace. I remember the beautiful, tranquil sects, the friends who roamed the Great Wilderness, living freely and settling old scores. I remember that I once visited such a world. Back then, it wasn't the game it is today. Its name was Tianxia II. This story is set in an imagined version of ancient China, and its map roughly follows the outline of historical China. The old Tianxia II was entirely Chinese in style, so I'll do my best to capture its flavor in this story >_< The old Tianxia II's Nine Provinces were nine map regions: Jiangnan, Bashu, Zhongyuan, Leize, Yanyuan, Jiuli, Beijiang, Nanzhao, and Liusha. But between its launch and shutdown, only six of these maps were opened: Jiangnan: Yunxuan City Bashu: Shuzhou City Zhongyuan: Xiling City / Liuguang City Leize: Mengyuan City Yanyuan: Beia City Jiuli: Jiuli City The old Tianxia II's classes: Might to topple mountains, spirit to cover the world: Huanghuo Sect Acupuncture and medicine, a heart devoted to healing: Bingxin Hall The Mystic Maiden reveals the Dao and passes on Heaven's secrets: Tianji Camp A single breath of Hongjun transforms into the Three Pure Ones: Taixu Temple Draw the bow, nock an arrow, and chase down the nine suns: Lingyu Mountain Manor Spectral shadows haunt the night, striking fear into spirits and gods: Wangliang Slay demons and vanquish evil beneath the heavens: Yijian Listening Rain Pavilion The myriad laws of heaven and earth, divine arts made clear: Yunlu Immortal Abode This story was written in memory of the old Tianxia II. It has lots of pictures, and won't be very long. It won't be paywalled either (though it probably wouldn't meet the requirements anyway). Think of it as a long-overdue tribute to the old Tianxia II. If someone happens upon it and comes to love the game, I'll be happy. This work is published exclusively on the Jinjiang Original Network.
